The C2C trip officially starts at Los Angeles International Airport. Athletes and supporters are responsible for getting to LAX by 3pm on day 1. We will then begin our group travel to Australia.
Athletes and supporters are responsible for booking their own domestic flights to and from LAX International Airport. When booking, make sure you arrive as LAX by 3:00pm on the day of departure to allow for delays, international check-in, security, and more.
Please see our trip itinerary here.
Flights: Although you'll travel as one group, specific seating arrangements cannot be guaranteed due to airline policies. While efforts will be made to seat families together, seats are assigned randomly.
Traveling in Australia: Athletes will be in separate groups to foster team bonding, while supporters will be assigned groups for organized travel.
Accommodations: In Australia, athletes stay at the Gold Coast Performance Centre, while supporters stay in a Surfer's Paradise hotel. In Hawaii, all travelers stay at the same hotel, with athletes and supporters having separate rooms.
Athletes: Each lodge at the Gold Coast Performance Centre includes multiple rooms with up to 4 athletes in each room; male and female athletes will be rooming separately. When staying at hotels, 2 athletes will be assigned to each room.
Supporters: Pricing for the trip is based on double occupancy, and you will be assigned your roommate at each accommodation. For groups traveling with multiple supporters, we will assign members of the same supporter group to a room. If you would like to stay in a room without a roommate, please contact Director Tracy to check availability and pricing.
Competing athletes will have 3 meals/day provided as part of their trip (excluding the free day in Sydney).
Supporters will have 2 meals/day provided each day as part of their trip.
Australia features familiar American restaurants like McDonald's, TGI Fridays, and Subway. However, opting for local cuisine reveals a difference in flavor, as Australian dishes typically use fewer preservatives and add-ins. Athletes staying at the Gold Coast Performance Centre will enjoy nutritious and satisfying meals made on site during their stay.
Both the hotel and performance center include free wifi. Please keep in mind that the performance center is located on a government owned property and the education department oversees the internet access; because of this, they offer a limited number of access codes for each group. All athletes will have wifi access given; however, supporters visiting the performance center will not have access to internet while there.
